Notes: George Frederick joined the Royal Navy on 2nd February 1898 at Portsmouth, Hampshire, his service number 198101. He signed on for a 12 year engagement, but bought himself out on 14th June 1905 and was transfered to the Royal Fleet Reserve. He was recalled to the colours on 4th October 1914 and and was demoblilised 18th January 1919. George Frederick was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal for his service from 1914 to 1919.
His younger brother Joe, joined the navy in 1902.
