Notes: John and his sister Elizabeth, were the first of the Crathorne family to reside in  Warwickshire. They were sent ahead my their father Sir Richard Crathorne 1515. Sir Richard, who married Mary Turner, sometimes recorded as Mary Coventry, moved down from Yorkshire sometime later. It is thought John's son Avery, was named after the Avery family, who were a prominent family in the area, thus creating a bond between the two families. Avery married Grace Priest in Sutton Coldfield on 21st May 1635. Following the outbreak of the plauge in Fillongley in 1604, the family spread across the area, such as into Maxstoke and Shustoke.
