Born: 1795.

Place of Birth: Keighley, Yorkshire.

Died: 9th July 1829, Keighley, Yorkshire. (Speculative)

Parents: Richard and Charlotte Hattersley, nee Longdon.

Marriages: Elizabeth Illingworth, 20th September 1819 in Keighley, Yorkshire.

Children: Susannah 1822, Willaim 1824, Henry 1827, Richard 1829 and Elizabeth 1832.

Occupation: Levi's father Richard, formed a business partnership with his sons Samuel and George, with Levi employed as a traveller (salesman).

Notes:  The business partnership formed by Richard Hattersley, appears to have had a rocky start, (attributed to Levi). It eventually went bankrupt in 1832. Separate businesses were setup by George in Keighley and Samuel in Bradford. Levi went to the United States around 1818 and became a US Citizen. He returned to England and married Elizabeth Illingworth in 1819. Levi was cast off by the family and returned to the US, leaving his wife and children in England.

Levi's wife Elizabeth, was an organist and lived in Bradford. In 1851 she was listed as a school mistress. Elizabeth passed away in September 1883, in Bradford. Her son Henry, joined the Merchant Navy as an apprentice. He was drowned at sea in 1846.
